Biography

Lleyton Senne is an up-and-coming filmmaker and podcast host known for his bold, inventive approach to storytelling. With a growing body of work consisting of 10 short films, Senne has quickly gained attention for his distinctive voice and cinematic style. Drawing inspiration from masters like Quentin Tarantino and Edgar Wright, his films blend humor, wit, fast-paced editing, and nonlinear narratives to create immersive, genre-blending experiences. Born in 2006 in Denver, Senne has developed a deep passion for film. He is captivated by the works of filmmakers pushing conventional storytelling's boundaries, mirroring the same in his work. Senne’s entry into filmmaking began during his time at FutureForward at Bollman, where he honed his skills in writing, directing, and editing. It was here that he realized his passion for creating stories that balanced both humor and suspense. Thematically, Senne often explores the complexities of human nature, blending humor with moments of tension. His characters are typically flawed, morally ambiguous, and relatable, with stories that dive into themes of redemption, identity, and the human capacity for change. His work can be dark, but it is always anchored by a sense of wit and irony, creating a balance between the light and the dark. Collaboration is a key element of Senne's creative process. He works closely with fellow filmmakers and artists, including talented collaborators like Kyle Jack and Aidan McDonough. Together, they push the boundaries of their collective creativity, bringing fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to their projects. This collaboration has allowed Senne to experiment with new styles, refine his vision, and continue to grow as a storyteller. In addition to his filmmaking work, Senne also hosts a podcast, The CU Denver Film Society, where he shares insights into his creative process, interviews fellow filmmakers, and discusses the art of storytelling. Now attending CU Denver, Senne has continued to hone his craft, creating several other short projects. His newest film, Mon Ami, a drama-thriller, is set for release in February 2025.
